Just starting the talk page. Johnh 21:52, 17 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Law and Gospel[edit]

I shall fill it out more. I became busy with other commitiments after opening the article. It is a topic that pretty much anyone within the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod would understand. I was hoping that someone from there might see my plea for assistance there. I have to dig out a book so I can put a few quotes up.

Thanks! N9urk 03:14, 20 October 2005 (UTC)

Gerald B. Kieschnick article[edit]

Hi JohnH. Thanks for restoring the work I'd done on the Talk Page of the Kieschnick article! I'm fairly new to Wikipedia and I don't quite know the procedure for handling this. Can I just go ahead and revert the article to what I believe was a quite neutral earlier version (before the other editer got there)? I had hoped to DISCUSS it with that person, so that we could work out a mutually acceptable version; but since the person's response was just to blank all my Talk Page comments, I'm sure he/she isn't willing to work together on it (plus, it's an anonymous IP). If you have any advice on how to proceed, I'd appreciate it! Ropcat 00:26, 27 Mar 2005 (UTC)

I've never handled an NPOV issue either, but the NPOV page seems to provide some guidance, leading to Wikipedia:Requests for mediation if necessary. I'd recommended soliciting discussion a couple more times, then go edit the page if you don't get a response. Johnh 00:57, 27 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Thanks John. Ropcat 22:16, 27 Mar 2005 (UTC)

It looks like there has been no further discussion about the NPVO problems about the Gerald B. Kieschnick page. Do you want to take a shot at restoring the article? Johnh 23:38, 3 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Sure. Thanks for alerting me to this; I'll try to do it soon. Rather than purely a revert to the previous version, I'm going to try to incorporate a few of the facts that the anonymous user included (but removing the NPOV problems). It might take me a few days to get to this, though. Appreciate your interest! Once I finish, if you could scan for any NPOV issues that I might inadvertantly have created, I'd appreciate it. Thanks again. Ropcat 04:15, 4 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Sure, let me know when I should look. Johnh 18:42, 5 Apr 2005 (UTC)

The anon user who added the NPOV content to Gerald B. Kieschnick again tried to blank the talk page and remove the NPOV discussion. I reverted these changes. But since that person is uninterested in constructive progress, do you want to just revert the page to before any of his or her edits? In addition, we probably have to determine what the appropriate way is to deal with an anonymous user who is not interested in NPOV. Johnh 03:34, 23 May 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for noticing this, John! I haven't been on here for a long time, so sorry about the delayed response. I agree with your suggestion for a complete revert to the previous version. What should we do with the talk page, which will no longer be relevant to the old version of the article? Just archive it somehow? Ropcat 06:44, 28 May 2005 (UTC) = There was another reversion by the same anon user. I've linked Gerald B. Kieschnick on to Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment to get a 3rd opinion. Johnh 20:37, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)

John- Thanks for keeping your eye on this, especially during a period where I haven't been as active on Wikipedia as in the past. I'm sorry to hear that the anonymous user keeps screwing with the article; it's strange, since s/he could easily enter into a dialogue with other users about the article and we'd probably be able to reach some consensus. Anyway, I'm not sure what Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment is, exactly, but I'm about to go check it out. In any case, I'm glad to hear that you're getting the broader Wikipedia involved in dealing with this dispute. Again, I appreciate your interest and action here. Ropcat 00:37, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Please look at the restructured choices on Talk:Lincoln/Vote and clarify your vote. Thanks! —Lowellian (talk) 08:38, July 20, 2005 (UTC)

Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod[edit]

The Template:WikiProject Wisconsin template goes on to the talk page, not the article page, since the message is meant for people editing and discussing articles, not those reading the article. Also, please leave messages on user talk pages (User talk:BaronLarf) rather than user pages (User:BaronLarf). Cheers. --BaronLarf 23:43, August 4, 2005 (UTC)

Martin Luther and the Jews[edit]

Isolani, could you do me a favor and look in on the Talk page of Martin Luther and the Jews? I'm trying to keep this page balanced and accurate. It is proving very difficult, since I'm the sole Lutheran voice here at the moment. Would you examine my posts and tell me if I'm crazy or unreasonable? --CTSWyneken 02:25, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

Lutheran Wikipedians[edit]

Dear John:

Please consider adding your page to: Category:Lutheran Wikipedians Bob Smith. --CTSWyneken 01:32, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
